FAQs

Do you take insurance?

No, I am out-of-network with insurance providers. I am only taking private pay at this time.  I can provide you with a Superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

How long does therapy take?

It really depends. A typical session is a “clinical hour,” which is usually 50 minutes. This gives time for the therapist to take notes and prepare between sessions.

The overall length of therapy varies based on your needs, goals, and preferences.

What do LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent mean? Do I have to fit in those categories to see you?

LGBTQ+ means Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, and the + is an inclusive symbol representing other sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions not specifically listed. LGBTQ+ is used to describe a broad and diverse community of people whose sexual orientation or gender identity differs from the societal norm.

Neurodivergent is a term used to describe people whose brains function differently from what is considered “typical” or “neurotypical.” This most commonly refers to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). There are many natural variations in how people think, learn, and experience the world.

You do not need to identify as part of the LGBTQ+ or neurodivergent communities to be a therapy client, but most are!

Do you offer group therapy?

I don’t currently offer group therapy—but stay tuned! I’m planning to offer social skills groups and support groups in the future.
